Morocco and the United Kingdom are willing to expand their defense and security collaboration, according to a statement by the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
This came in meetings between Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration Abdellatif Loudiyi, British Senior Defense Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, Air Marshal Martin Elliot Sampson and the Lieutenant General, FAR Inspector General and Commander of the Southern Zone.
The Moroccan and British sides expressed the shared will to bolster cooperation on training, visit exchange, expertise sharing and combined exercises such as the “Jebel Sahara”.
The Lieutenant General expressed keenness to expand cooperation to include maritime security, Special Forces, defense industry, and artificial intelligence.
The meeting was also attended by UK’s Ambassador to Morocco, Simon Martin.
Morocco and the United Kingdom signed in 1993 the Framework Agreement for Military and Technical Cooperation.
