Moroccan security services dismantled Wednesday, in a joint operation with the Spanish intelligence, an ISIS-linked terrorist cell made of three people operating in Spain and Morocco.
One of the said extremist members was caught in Chtouka Ait Baha (Central Morocco), at the same time as the two others were arrested in Almeria by the Spanish authorities.
Investigation has shown that the suspects had pledged their allegiance to ISIS and were active in spreading extremist ideology for the purpose of recruitment.
The suspects had ties with fighters charged with recruiting and facilitating the entry of volunteers into the Sahel region.
The search operation at the Chtouka Ait Baha house enabled the seizure of digital equipment on which technical expertise will be performed.
The suspect nabbed in Morocco is put on remand to complete the investigation, under the competent public prosecutor.
