An Algerian minor was killed, on Jan. 10 during an anti-drug operation in the suburbs of Algiers, when a police officer fired a “warning shot”.
The policeman was said to be arrested as part of an investigation ordered by the prosecutor’s office, said the Algerian authorities.
Some young people wanted to obstruct a police search operation in Baraki, a suburb of Algiers. One of the policemen fired a warning shot and hit a young man who succumbed to his wounds at the hospital, said the Algerian Police on its official Facebook page.
It added that the policeman was taken into custody while his weapon is undergoing forensic ballistic examination.
