News website “Israel Defense” highlighted, Sunday, the mission of the Moroccan Center for Remote Space Sensing.
The Israeli news outlet underlined that Morocco is expanding its space capabilities through its program run by the Moroccan Centre for Remote Space Sensing and via a strong cooperation with the US, Spain and France.
It recalled that the Kingdom upgraded its space capabilities by launching two observation satellites in 2001 and 2018. The country also launched in November 2017 another satellite, built by Thales Alenia, for the purpose of civilian research and assignments, such as weather control, climate, and agricultural crops, it said.
The Israeli website added that Morocco’s official space agency manages many programs such as remote sensing, small satellites, space exploration, medical technologies, cyber, space as a business dimension, and international law and research regarding ethical and moral issues in the context of space.
It concluded by saying that Morocco sees its space program as one of the most significant factors in accelerating local economy, education, agriculture, defense, aviation. “Morocco also indents to manufacture engine, airplane and satellite parts.”
