The United States lauded Friday the role and efforts by King Mohammed VI in support of Palestinians and their cause.
At a press conference in Washington, spokesperson of the US Department of State Ned Price stressed that Morocco has a unique relationship with the Palestinians given that King Mohammed VI is the chairperson of the Al-Quds Committee, under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
“We appreciate that Morocco is providing aid and assistance to the Palestinian people and supporting a two-state solution,” he said.
On the resumption of relations between Morocco and Israel, Price described Morocco as a “leader” in the region.
He explained that Morocco-Israel ties have created real benefits for the peoples of both countries, as well as new opportunities for peace and prosperity and economic opportunities.
