Morocco’s Head of government Aziz Akhannouch represented Sunday King Mohammed VI in the inauguration ceremony of Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, held at the headquarters of Congress.
Akhannouch was received at the Palacio Planalto, the seat of the executive branch, by Lula Da Silva and his vice-president, Geraldo José Rodrigues de Alckmin Filho.
In his speech, Lula da Silva delivered a harsh denunciation of former far-right leader Jair Bolsonaro, advocating a significant change to salvage a country crippled by hunger, poverty, and discrimination.
In the Oct. 30 election, da Silva defeated Bolsonaro by less than 2%, receiving 50.9 % of the vote in the second round. Jair Bolsonaro got (49.1%).
Bolsonaro may potentially face legal risks if he stays in Brazil after his presidential immunity expires.
Da Silva ruled Brazil for two straight terms between 2003 and 2010.
