Madagascar is looking to partner with Morocco to invest in the fertilizer industry as part of its attempts to become self-sufficient in agriculture, said its President Andry Rajoelina.
Rajoelina, who visited Morocco in October, told Reuters in an email that “we are seeking Moroccan fertilizers as well as investments in the fertilizers’ sector.”
OCP Africa, a subsidiary of the OCP Group, has local offices in many African countries (Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroon, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Benin, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, and Rwanda).
A global leader in plant nutrition and the world’s largest producer of phosphate-based fertilizers, OCP is committed to reserve over 4 million tons of fertilizers for African farmers in 2023.
