Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita received, on Friday in Rabat, Christophe Lecourtier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Morocco.
Lecourtier handed copies of his credentials to the Moroccan top official.
Lecourtier landed in Morocco on Monday to replace the previous French ambassador Hélène Le Gal, who was recalled due to the tension between the two countries.
On December 16th, after several months of vacancy, Christophe Lecourtier was officially appointed as the new ambassador.
The French Foreign Minister, Catherine Collona, put an end to visa’s crisis during her last visit to Morocco on Dec 15-16.Moroccan French relations were strained in September 2021, when Paris decided to half the amount of visas granted to Moroccans, citing the kingdom’s unwillingness to return its nationals who were in an illegal situation in France.
