Morocco’s Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) and German Development Bank (KfW) signed, recently, three financing agreements totaling 52.6 million Euros.
The first contract, worth 28.5 million euros, is meant for the Drinking Water Supply Program in cities of Kelaa, Laattaouia, Tamellalt and adjacent areas, by applying techniques to boost drinking water production, pumping, and transportation.
The program also involves the creation of a remote management system for the Marrakech water supply project originating from the Al Massira dam, as well as the completion of the project’s electrical line and the Atlantic Coast water supply project.
The second totaling 21 million euros concerns meeting the existing and future needs of the areas serviced or being expanded. It also concerns the enhancement of the ONEE facilities’ performance.
The third provides for financial assistance in support of the said program. 3.1 million Euro is granted to establish ONEE’s archives and e-document management.
