Minister of Education Chakib Benmoussa said, Monday at the parliament, that the number of combined classes (students of different grade levels taught by the same teacher in the same classroom) in Morocco reached 25,000.
Benmousa stated that these classrooms are steadily declining, explaining that their adoption in elementary schools is due to the low number of students.
On sports, the Minister said that his department organized 44 national tournaments in various sports, and participated in 13 international championships. He added that 200 community-based football fields will be built.
Referring to public versus private education, the Minister emphasized that private education is not an alternative to the public one, noting that 14% of students are enrolled in private schools.
