The repression of widespread protests in Iran prompted the German government to suspend, on Friday, official initiatives meant to promote trade between the two countries.
According to the German ministry of economy, the suspension will have an impact on Iran’s German manager training and trade fair programs. It will also disrupt export credits and investment guarantees.
1.76 billion euros ($1.87 billion) in trade took place between Germany and Iran in 2021.
