The Government Council, chaired by Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch approved, on Wednesday, bill No. 07.22 on the creation of the High Authority for Health.
The bill aims to establish the High Authority for Health, as a state-owned legal entity, that undertakes particularly the technical supervision of basic compulsory health insurance, the assessment of the quality of services in public and private health institutions, and the informing of public policies in the field of health.
The bill includes provisions setting out the roles of the High Authority for Health, mainly the development of efficient management tools, the evaluation of the medical care offered to patients, and the establishment of the Authority’s bodies consisting of a council and a president.
The bill determines the qualifications of the board members, the duration of their tenure, and the cases of incompatibility.
