Argentina defeated, Sunday, France 4-2 on penalty shootouts to win the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Argentina’s Lionel Messi netted a goal in the 23rd min of the game and fellow player Angel Di Maria in the 36th min. France succeeded to equalize in the second halftime thanks to the two goals scored in the 80th and 81st min by Kylian Mbappe.
Messi scored again (108th min) but Mbappe was quick to net a hat-trick and secure a 3-3 draw.
Messi and his friends moved to the finals after a back-to-back win over all teams that participated in the tournament to snatch deservedly the World Cup 2022.
FIFA named Messi the best player of the 2022 World Cup, and granted him the Golden Ball. The Golden Boot Award was for Kylian Mbappe, while Martinez won the best goalkeeper award, and Fernandez got the Young Player Award.
