The Moroccan football squad lost, Saturday, the third-place playoffs against Croatia (2-1) in Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Croatia raced to score early in the game by Josko Gvardiol in the 7th min of the match. Morocco succeeded to equalize only two minutes later thanks to a goal by Achraf Dari (9th min).
The tie will break at the 42nd minute with a goal by Croatian player Mislav Orsic.
Though the Moroccan squad dominated possession of the ball in the second halftime to equalize, the odds were not in their favor to win the bronze medal and they settled for the fourth spot in this global tournament.
Morocco moved to the knockout stage of the World Cup 2022 after a back-to-back win over Belgium, Spain, Canada, and Portugal to be the first Arab and African country to reach this stage of the competition.
