Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, and Nexans CEO Christopher Guarin, inaugurated, on Wednesday, the Nexans photovoltaic power plant in Mohammedia.
The power plant is equipped with 4,640 photovoltaic panels, set up over a surface area of 12,166 m2. It will produce more than 3,927 MWh of electricity annually, slashing significantly CO2 emissions by over 2,850 tons yearly. It is expected to cover 19% of the plant’s energy needs.
This project is in line with Morocco’s objectives to develop a clean, decarbonized, and eco-responsible industry. “Energy transition is now an industrial imperative and opportunity that must be grasped”, said the Minister.
Nexans is a key driver for the world’s transition to a more connected and sustainable energy future. It provides customers with advanced cable technologies for power and data transmission. The Group is committed to carbon neutrality by 2030.
