Moroccan women spend more than 1/6 of their daily time on household chores, 6 times more than men, according to a report by the High Commission for Planning (HCP).
The average daily time spent on chores and errands for those aged 15 and above is estimated, nationally, at 2h29min. Women spend a daily average of 4h17min in these chores while men do not exceed 38min.
The report about the Covid socio-economic and psychological repercussions on Moroccan families shows that the average time for chores inside the house is estimated at 2 hours a day (3h 51min for women and 5 minutes for men).
This average increases to 4h36min for housewives compared to 3h17min for working women, and 4 h45 min for married women compared to 2 h52 min for single women.
The document wrote that the average time for errands is estimated at 30 minutes a day (33 min for men and 26 min for women). This duration of time reaches 24 min for women in urban areas and 34 min for working women among them.
