Minister of Economy Nadia Fattah declared, on Monday, Morocco’s decision to contribute to the 16th replenishment of the African Development Fund (ADF-16), which is being held in Tangier, and invited other countries to follow suit.
The announcement was made in a speech read out by Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to African countries, following the King’s vision for a solidarity-based and prosperous Africa.
This year marks the Fund’s golden jubilee. Over the last 50 years, the Fund has invested more than $40 billion in over 2,700 projects on the continent, garnering international acclaim.
Representatives from the Fund’s donor countries are attending the event, as will senior executives from the ADF, led by its president, Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina.
The ADF-15 benefited 37 African countries, and allowed them to keep health services running, enhance social protection, protect livelihoods, and train health professionals.
