Moroccan Association “Front Social Marocain” urged the population to take to streets against the backdrop of the continuously rising prices of basic commodities and fuel, and the lack of governmental measures to alleviate the problem.
Other civil and human rights associations also called to take part in the demonstration to denounce government’s indifference and inertia. They are notably the Moroccan Human Rights Body (IMDH), the Left Federation, the National Federation for Education (FEN), and the National Trade Union for Education (FDT).
The march is meant to expose the precariousness of the most vulnerable social segments in the Moroccan society.
The protest rally is expected to take place Sunday at the Bab Al Had square in Rabat.
