Germany has reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s autonomy plan over the Sahara as a credible and serious solution to the dispute.
According to DW media outlet, German foreign minister Annalena Baerbock quoted the federal government’s 15-page report in favor of Morocco and its autonomy initiative.
“Morocco brought an important contribution for achieving a political solution to this issue within the UN framework,” wrote the report issued in November.
Baerbock was answering questions by Deputy Sevim Dağdelen from the DIE LINKE (the Left) about the federal government’s position over the artificial issue.
During her official visit to Morocco last August, Baerbock had stated that it is in the interest of the Moroccan and German parties to revive and deepen bilateral historical bonds.
