The Moroccan government will start paying taxes related to the importation of milk and its derivatives, which are becoming a scare commodity in stores.
The measure will remain in force till October 2023.
The government will cover the import taxes and the value-added tax, while importers will bear the remaining customs duties and indirect taxes.
The new move by the Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes (ADII) comes amid a severe drought that hit the country, and resulted in a shortage of many products.
