Policemen in Fez apprehended, on Friday, seven people, including two women, for their alleged ties with a fraudulent criminal ring operating in illegal immigration.
Prior to that, police services had opened a probe into the cases of fraud victims in the city of Nador (northern Morocco). The investigation revealed that sums of money amounting to 60,000 MAD per person were handed in exchange of immigration and jobs abroad promise.
The probe helped identify the suspects, spot them and arrest them. During the search operation, a laptop, a printer and a cheque were seized.
The suspects were remanded in police custody to dig deep into the case.
