The Ministry of Tourism, the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT) and the World Tourism Organization (WTO) signed, on Friday in Marrakech, a partnership agreement on the promotion of tourism investment and digitalization.
This agreement, inked during the 117th summit of the WTO executive Council, will boost the Ministry’s efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the Moroccan destination via boosting tourism investment, innovation and digitalization, and supporting tourism-linked SMEs, especially in the post-covid 19 era.
The accord is part of the ongoing efforts made by the Kingdom to foster the attractiveness of Morocco as a hot destination and to spur high value-added investments in the sector.
250 WTO representatives took part in the Council, including 16 ministers and senior officials in charge of tourism in Member States.
Morocco had a weighty presence in this event, with delegations from the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT), the National Federation of Hotel Industry (FNIH), the National Federation of Travel Agencies of Morocco (FNAVM), and the National Office of Tourism (ONMT).
