The High Commission for Planning (HCP) and the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) signed, on Friday during a video conference, a partnership agreement to enhance cooperation in the field of statistics.
According to a statement by HCP, the cooperation agreement touches on several areas, including business statistics, big data, alternative sources of data, as well as modelling and economic forecasting.
HCP head Ahmed Lahlimi Alami stressed that this partnership heralds a new era of statistical cooperation between Morocco and the People’s Republic of China, which are bound by several cooperation agreements.
He also highlighted the importance of the “Belt and Road” initiative, which is part of the Moroccan-Chinese economic cooperation.
