Morocco is well-positioned to become a global energy hub because of its stability, location, and connection to Europe, and it is the perfect place for investors, said, on Thursday, CEO of NewMed Energy Yossi Abu.
The statement was made at the Jerusalem Post Global Investment Forum in Marrakech, in a panel discussion themed “What are the viable alternatives to facing the energy crisis.”
As a proof of the company’s extensive experience in the area, Abu recalled that NewMed Energy connected the natural gas grids between Israel, Jordan, and Egypt.
According to Abu, NewMed Energy is making investments in three sectors in Morocco: natural gas, renewable energy, and hydrogen.
He remarked that “we believe that Morocco has a vast potential for natural gas discoveries, primarily in the Moroccan Sahara.”
NewMed Energy is one of Israel’s largest energy companies leading energy partnership in the exploration, development, production and sale of natural gas and condensate.
