King Mohammed VI chaired, on Tuesday at Rabat Royal Palace, a working meeting on renewable energy in the Kingdom and its future prospects.
The meeting is in keeping with the country’s strategic goals, notably stepping up the share of renewables to 52% in the total power capacity by 2030, wrote a statement by the royal office.
The King was given details and updates about the progress of the national renewable energy program, which helped the country confirm its energy transition leadership regionally.
The sovereign gave his instructions to expedite the implementation of projects under way, namely the three Noor Midelt energy projects, and enhance Morocco’s competitiveness to attract further investment.
He also tasked the officials concerned to develop a “Moroccan Offer” that would cover the entire green hydrogen value chain, including infrastructure and the regulatory and institutional framework.
