Google doodle temporarily altered today its homepage’s logo to commemorate Morocco’s Independence Day which is celebrated on Nov. 18.
The search engine’s interface got a green background, on top of which the flag of the Kingdom of Morocco, reading “Morocco’s Independence Day”.
The Kingdom is marking, on Friday, the 67th anniversary of its independence, an occasion to renew the bonds of cohesion between the Alawite throne and the Moroccan people.
This celebration symbolizes the Moroccan unity from Tangier to Lagouira, and the people’s adherence to their national unwavering values.
The French protectorate officially ended after the return of Sultan Mohamed Ben Youssef from exile. Late King Hassan II was able to complete Morocco’s territorial integrity by recovering Tarfaya in 1958 and Sidi Ifni in 1969, then Saguia el-Hamra and Oued Eddahab through the Green March in 1975.
