The Association of the Seventeen Lawyers’ Bar in Morocco held a vigil on Tuesday in front of the Moroccan Parliament in Rabat, reaffirming their rejection of the new amendments contained in the new draft finance law of 2023 and the draft of the act governing the legal profession, the protestors come from different professional bodies, like National Lawyers’ Association of Morocco, the Federation of Young Lawyers’ Associations of Morocco and the Bar Association.
The lawyer protested with signs reading “Ouahbi Leave” and “Where has the people’s money gone?”, ” The profession of lawyer is noble and a humanitarian mission”, ” the government comes and left, We call for the amendments to be withdrawn”, accusing the minister of taking unilateral decisions without their involvement.
Crowds of lawyers from different cities come in front of parliament in order to participate in the vigil denouncing the unilateral decisions of the Justice Minister.
The Lawyers ongoing protests spanning more than a week from 21st October in front of the ministry of justice, to express their rejection of the legal developments contained in the draft finance law that imposes new taxes on lawyers.
