True to their internationally recognized expertise and outstanding performance, the Kingdom’s security services continue to deploy great efforts to thwart attempts of drug trafficking, irregular migration, and more to protect public order, safety, and security.
Concerning Territorial Surveillance and Security Cooperation, the General Directorate for National Security was able to arrest several internationally wanted criminals on October 29, such as two French citizens accused of drug trafficking. Another French national was arrested, on the same day, for swindling and bank fraud. On October 26, police services in the province of Nador, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), dismantled an organized criminal network active in human trafficking and organization illegal immigration north of the Kingdom.
The Moroccan Army Forces ended a Sudanese man’s plans to infiltrate Moroccan territory from Jrada on October 31, equipped with a Kalashnikov charger and about 30 bullets.
And lastly, BCIJ arrested, on October 25, five ISIS members suspected of involvement in preparing terrorist schemes.
From October 24 to November 3, Morocco’s law enforcement was able to arrest 25 people involved in drug trafficking with a total quantity of over 507.54 kg, 232 plates, 40 parcels of cannabis resin (chira), over 174 kgs of kif, 6.455 kg of cocaine, 107 kgs of narcotics, and 2125 psychotropic tablets.
On irregular migrations, over 893 prospective irregular migrants, Moroccans, Senegalese, Sudanese, and sub-Saharans, were arrested at different checkpoints in the Kingdom. Ammunition was also seized by the authorities, including 513 smoking materials, two handcuffs, one rifle and one pistol, 57 blank bullets, 4 daggers, and two knives.
During this period, 5 strange deaths, 1 disappearance, 4 murders, 9 suicides, and 2 suicide attempts, took place in several regions of the Kingdom. The details are as follows:
Drugs Trafficking:
Nador Al Aroui Airport: The police arrested a Belgo-Moroccan on October 24 as he was leaving Morocco for Brussels, in possession of 94 grams of “chira.”
Oujda-Angad: the Auxiliary forces in Ahfir discovered, on October 24, 2 parcels of chira (weighing 4.5 kg) abandoned.
Chefchaouen: on October 23, The Gendarmerie found 7 grams of cocaine in the abandoned car of a hard drug dealer.
Errachidia: Judicial Police arrested a man on October 24, exiting the city for Ouarzazate, in possession of 2 kg of chira. He was taken into custody. The police services arrested the same day a man in possession of 1.28 grams of chira. The services of the Royal Gendarmerie arrested another man, on October 26 for his involvement in drug trafficking.
Temara: The police services have interpellated a man, on October 25, in the district “Skikina,” in possession of two plates of chira weighing 120 grams. The search at his home allowed the seizure of a quantity of chira totaling a global weight of 11.6 kgs. He was placed in custody.
Casablanca: The police arrested, on October 25, a man in possession of 2 stems of kif; the search carried out at his home led to the seizure of 5 kg of ground kif and 120 kilograms of kif in stems; he was placed in custody. The police apprehended a man, on October 27, in flagrante delicto of the traffic of cocaine, whose search resulted in the seizure of 6,4 kg; he was placed in custody. The royal patrol of the navy named “Bir Anzarane” succeeded, on November 3, in recovering 12 packages of chira (with a total weight of 360 kgs) thrown by the passengers of a zodiac located on November 1 in the sea of Asilah.
Jerada: a patrol of Auxiliary Forces arrested an Algerian deprived of identity documents on October 25. His backpack contained 5 kg of chira. He was placed in custody. On October 30, 4 parcels comprising 107 kg of narcotics were discovered by the Auxiliary Forces.
Driouch: the Royal Gendarmerie arrested a man in his « Audi A3 » car on October 24. He managed to escape but was arrested on board a car brand, “A Volkswagen Jetta”, , with two other men, arrested too. The search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 596 “Rivotril” type psychotropic drugs.
Rabat: The police services arrested, on October 26, a man, whose search carried out at his home allowed the seizure of 224 psychotropic tablets (brands “Zepam” -42 units-, “Eroxil”-147- and “Revotril”-35-), as well as 160 grams of “chira.” He was taken into custody. The police services on duty at the judicial roadblock at the highway level have interpellated, on October 28, a man and a woman, passengers of a public transport bus, were found in possession of 42 plates of chira hidden in the luggage compartment. The police services arrested a woman on October 31 in possession of 190 plates of chira, hidden in a bag, deposited in the hold of the bus. She was placed in custody.
Kenitra: Law enforcement arrested a Malian on October 26 for the detention of a piece of chira; he was placed in police custody.
Ibn Battouta Tanger Airport: the police arrested two men on October 27 while they were exiting the Kingdom. They were found in possession of 28 and 07 grams of chira. They were entrusted to the judicial police of Tanger.
Maritime Port Tanger-med: The police and customs services have arrested a man, on October 30 at his exit from the Kingdom, transporting a cargo of tomato, whose search has allowed the discovery of 7 kg of chira. He was placed in custody. The police services arrested a man, on October 31, while he was leaving Morocco for Marseille in France, in possession of 250 grams of chira hidden in luggage loaded from the city of Kenitra. The services of police and customs interpellated a Spanish national of Moroccan origins on November 1 at the departure for Tarifa. The search allowed the seizure of 19.5 kg of chira, hidden at the level of his car’s frame.
Bab Sebta: The services of police and customs intercepted a man on November 28 at his exit from the Kingdom, whose search led to the discovery of a quantity of 38.2 kg of chira.
Berkane: The elements of the Judicial Police arrested on October 27 two men carrying 10 grams of cocaine, an electronic scale, 12 false license plates, and 4 big cutlasses.
Kelaat Sraghna: The police seized, on October 29, 1 gram of cocaine thrown by a man while he was running away.
Fes: The police services arrested 3 men on the night of 31th of October. The search resulted in the seizure of 36 grams of cocaine, 1305 tablets of psychotropic drugs, 2 knives, and 2 electronic scales. The examination of their car led to the seizure of 58 kgs of chira, 1 gram of cocaine, and 4 blades.
Azemmour: On November 1, a mixed patrol composed of elements of the royal gendarmerie, auxiliary forces, and the local authority aborted an operation of drug trafficking, which resulted in the seizure of 12 parcels of chira and 40 cans of gasoline, while the perpetrators of this operation have fled to an unknown destination.
El Jadida: 28 parcels of chira were rejected by the sea on November 1.
Tifelt: A man was mortally hit, on October 3 at the level of the provincial road of the douar “Ait Issa” by a car brand “Mercedes 270”, whose driver fled, abandoning his vehicle, whose search allowed the discovery of de 49 kg of kif.
Violence against women and minors:
Casablanca: On October 27, a man reported the death of his wife in the marital home. Police discovered that the victim had been abused by her husband. An autopsy of the victim’s body was performed.
Rabat: The police moved on October 29 to the residence “Dyar el Mansour” where a man in a drunken state had locked himself in his house while threatening to throw his 4-years-old daughter out of the window, following an argument with his wife.
Sexual Abuse :
Tamesna: A female teacher at the college “Abdeslam Amer,” reported, on October 31, to the police services that she was threatened by a man armed with a knife while on her way to work. He subjected her to sexual touching before managing to flee. The police were able to arrest the accused and take him into custody. Another woman came forward on November 1 to file a complaint against three unknown men for “rape at knifepoint.”
Meknes: On November 3, On November 3, a man accompanied his underage daughter to the provincial hospital “Mohammed V,” claiming that she wanted an abortion and that an unknown man had raped her. The police heard both parties and revealed that the daughter was the victim of incestuous acts by her father; he was immediately arrested and detained until his appearance before the courts.
Irregular immigration :
The security services arrested 893 prospective irregular migrants at different border crossings and cities in Morocco. They are Moroccan, Senagalese, Sub-Saharan, and Sudanese Nationals.
Unusual deaths :
Casablanca: On October 26, a male corpse was discovered by the security agents of Morocco’s national railway operator (ONCF) between the train rails. The deceased was likely a candidate for illegal emigration.
Mohammedia: the corpse of a newborn was discovered in a bin on October 26.
Ait Melloul: The body of a man suffering from mental disorders was discovered on October 27 at the parental home. He was taken to the morgue of the regional hospital of Agadir for an autopsy.
Ouarzazate: A fire of undetermined origin broke out on October 27 in a house, causing the calcination of a woman, which was evacuated to the morgue of the hospital “Bougafer” in Ouarzazate for autopsy.
Unusual disappearances :
Marrakech: On October 31, a man alerted of the discovery of human remains. Elements of the territorial brigade of the royal gendarmerie, assisted by those of the judicial brigade, have moved on the scene. On the instructions of the general prosecutor of the court of appeal of this city, these remains were sent to the municipal morgue for autopsy and sampling at the laboratory of research and medical analysis of the royal gendarmerie. Murders :
Kenitra: A man suffering from mental has mortally strangled, on October 24, his adoptive mother, with the help of a metal chain. The deceased’s body was stored in the morgue of the city’s provincial hospital for autopsy.

Sidi Kacem: The services of the royal gendarmerie arrested, on November 1, a man at his home, for being the perpetrator of the assassination of a man following a brawl that opposed him and the victim. The accused was placed in custody.
Thefts and muggings:
Chtouka Ait Baha: the elements of the royal gendarmerie intercepted, on October 24, a van of the brand “Mahindra,” led by a man transporting a cargo estimated at 1 ton 936 kg of subsidized sugar from the southern provinces.
Tit Mellil: A sub-Saharan national with neck injuries were taken to the provincial hospital in Mediouna for medical treatment on October 26. He was then evacuated to the CHU Averroes while an investigation by the district police was opened into the case.
Kenitra: The police services went, on October 26, to question a man suffering from mental disorders, who was denounced for disturbance and threatening with a knife, who had been reported for disturbance and threats with a knife. They proceeded to commit him to the psychiatric ward on the instructions of the local prosecutor.

They were transported to the hospital “Mohammed VI.” The security services arrested 8 of the hooligans and placed them in custody.
Temara: A man presented himself on October 30 to the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie to declare that he was the victim of theft of his car brand “DFSK,” by two thugs, at gunpoint. The car was abandoned in an agricultural field while the accused remained wanted.
Tiflet: The director of the school ibn Hazem has filed, on October 31, a complaint at the police station, for theft inside the school, committed by one or more individuals who took 73 electronic tablets, and this by breaking the window protection of the office of the director.
Marrakech: A verbal argument that degenerated into a fight occurred on October 31 at “Jemaa el Fna” between two men of Senegalese citizenship in a state of drunkenness. They were working there as street vendors. On the instructions of the local prosecutor’s office, one was taken into custody for “obvious drunkenness and damage to other people’s property,” while the other will be prosecuted for “illegal residence”. A pharmacist went on November 3 to the premises of the 13th police district to file a complaint against an unknown man for “theft by burglary” of a sum of 4,000 dirhams from the cash register of her pharmacy. The thief also tried to access the bank branch “Société Générale” adjacent to the said pharmacy before damaging the A.T.M. of the agency.
Sale: On the night of November 2, a man damaged 5 cars in regular parking in the district “Rahma”. The police opened an investigation for the arrest of this thug.
Ouezzane: A man succumbed to his wounds on November 3 after being stabbed in the neck and stomach, with a dagger, by his brother, who has been arrested.
Forgery and uttering:
Tanger: The police arrested, last November 27, a man found in possession of 11 banknotes of 200 dirhams forged, while the search conducted at his home led to the seizure of the printer used in the counterfeiting of banknotes. He was placed in detention.
Sanitary security:
Casablanca: on November 26, a joint commission proceeded to the seizure and destruction of 1500 kg of bread and pasta damaged based on violations found after the control conducted by the commissions at a bakery-patisserie moved to the verbalization, and temporary closure of the said local due to the absence of appropriate hygiene conditions.
Mohammedia: a case of bovine rabies was detected, on November 2, according to the findings of “ONSSA” (National Office of Sanitary safety of Food Products). It appears that a rabid stray dog bit the cow.
Seizure of weapons or prohibited items for terrorist or malicious acts:
Fes: The Judicial police questioned, on October 25, 4 people indulging in the sale, via social networks, of flames and smoke, meant for the “ultras.” The searches carried out by the mentioned services allowed the seizure of 513 flames and smoke of different types, having been bought by the subjects from a wholesaler in Casablanca to resell them to the supporters of the local team of the “M.A.S.” The 4 men were placed in custody.
Marrakech-Menara Airport: The customs services seized a pair of handcuffs, found in possession of the french national of Moroccan origin on October 26.
Casablanca: On October 26, a man contacted the prefecture of police to inform them that his nephew deposited a rifle on the roof of his residence. The police seized the weapon.
Tanger-med Maritime Port: a cleaning agent showed up on October 28 to the police services to report the discovery of an alarm pistol, brand “kimar” (caliber 9mm), and 57 blank bullets, abandoned in a trash can placed at the level of the import area reserved for the processing of light vehicles. The gun and ammunition were seized before hearing the person released on the prosecutor’s instruction.
In the past 10 days, suicides and attempted suicides have also been reported and investigated.
Suicides :
Beni Mellal: A 58-years-old man suffering from mental disorders committed suicide on October 26 in a room of the hotel “Atlas” in Beni Mellal, using a scalpel.
Safi: A man set fire, on October 27, in his room at his parental home, causing his death by asphyxiation. Moved to the scene, the elements of civil protection controlled the fire and transported the deceased’s body to the municipal morgue of Safi for autopsy.
Fkih Ben Saleh: On October 31, a man set himself on fire by sprinkling his body with half a liter of gasoline following a conflict with his brother over the right to use a piece of farmland bequeathed by their father.
Khemisset: On October 28, a man committed suicide by hanging himself. On October 28, a man committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope attached to the bathroom ceiling in his home.
Essaouira: Since October 28, a man hospitalized in the provincial hospital “Sidi Mohammed ben Abdellah” following pneumatological complications committed suicide, on October 30, by hanging himself with a rope attached to the ceiling of a room in the hospital.
Agadir: On November 1, a suicide by hanging was reported by neighbors.
Rabat: On November 2, a man committed suicide by hanging with a rope attached to the balcony of his parental home.
Fes: On November 2, a woman committed suicide by hanging with a rope attached to the window of her room at her parental home.
Suicide attempts:
Tiflet: a common law prisoner, incarcerated in the local prison “Tiflet II”, tried, on October 26, to commit suicide in the toilets of his cell before the intervention of his co-detainees.
Casablanca: on October 28, elements of the police moved to the hospital “Of Mohamed Bouafi”, in the context of a suicide attempt by a man suffering from mental disorders and excessive drug consumption. He tried to swallow two bags of cockroach poison “cockroaches killer” and a bag of rat poison.
