During the Arab Summit held in Algiers between the 1st and the 2nd of November, Arab leaders called for the benefit of Morocco’s experience in countering terrorism.
The Arab leaders greeted the importance of continuing to benefit from the experience and services of the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulemas and the Mohammed VI Institute for the training of Imams and Murshidin, men and women, in the Kingdom of Morocco. They hailed the establishment in Morocco of the Office of the UN Program for Counter-Terrorism and Training in Africa.
The Office, which opened in June 2021, focuses on the development and implementation of the adopted programs, which are primarily aimed at developing and strengthening capacities and skills in the field of counter-terrorism, such as border security and management, investigation and prosecution, prison management, and reskilling and reintegration.
The choice of Morocco as a partner for this office reflects the respect and confidence in the national strategy to combat terrorism and violent extremism, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
