Reliable sources reported to Barlaman Today that, on October 29th, police services at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca were able to arrest French nationals aged 35 and 22, the first of Macedonian origins and the second of Tunisian origins. They were the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities in a case involving international drug trafficking.
The two suspects were arrested immediately upon arrival on a flight from Tunis airport, after the Interpol databases showed that they were the subject of a Red Notice on suspicion of involvement in a criminal network operating in drug trafficking between Spain and France.
The suspects were placed in custody by order of the competent public prosecutor’s office, against the backdrop of the procedures required by the rule of extradition in compliance with national legislation and relevant international conventions.
This security process falls within the context of the General Directorate for National Security’s active and effective engagement in bilateral and multilateral cooperation in security areas, particularly with regard to the tracing and prosecution of internationally sought persons in transnational crime cases.
