On October 24th, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan launched the Mediterranean Conference of the Organization for Security and European Cooperation, organized by the Republic of North Macedonia and the Organization for Security and European Cooperation (OSCE), with the participation of the Kingdom of Morocco.
This Conference has witnessed the participation of representatives of the 57 States members of the OSCE, its 10 Mediterranean and Asian partners, the Secretary-General of OSCE Helga Schmid, the Secretary-General of the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly Roberto Montella, and a number of its parliamentary members, as well as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Poland, Zbigniew Rau.
The Conference, entitled “Strengthening security and cooperation in the Mediterranean region: Strengthening dialogue with Mediterranean partners of the Organization for Security and European Cooperation”, addresses many issues, including the role of youth in development and security, cooperation in addressing the challenges posed by climate change, women’s economic empowerment and combating human trafficking.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Boyar Osmani, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Zbigniew Rau, will take the floor during the opening morning meeting of the Conference. The session will be followed by joint press statements by Safadi and Osmani.
