José Manuel Jiménez, the managing partner of Nantai Trade Consulting, revealed his company’s activities in Morocco and the business opportunities present in the North African country for Spanish companies during his appearance on the Atalayar program on Onda Madrid, reports Atalayar.
The Spanish businessman declared that his international business development specialized consultancy firm leads various projects in Morocco with other Spanish companies and the automotive sector in the Kingdom. He states that the goal is to help small and medium-sized Spanish firms to enter foreign markets such as Morocco, says Atalayar.
Atalayar stated that Jiménez views Morocco as a fellow country due to its geographical proximity to Spain, in addition to the recent free trade agreement with the European Union. He points out that Spanish companies have long been operating in Morocco and developing their business.
The managing partner of Nantai Trade Consulting expressed that the Moroccan market has given great importance to sectoral development plans. He mentions the industrial acceleration plan which covers the automotive, aeronautics, and electronics sectors, the green generation sector related to the agricultural sector, and tourism, according to the same source.
On whether or not politics impact economic and commercial ties already set in place, the Spanish businessman answered in the affirmative. That being said, Jiménez told Atalayar that “Morocco has been supporting Spanish companies for a long time. We receive a great deal of aid and subsidies from the Moroccan government, especially in terms of installation assistance.” He also noted Morocco’s restrictions during the Covid pandemic and later on, the diplomatic crisis between Madrid and Rabat, as the reason why trade relations and business were affected.
