Abdelfattah El Baghdadi and El Houssine El Yamani, the representatives of the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) on the Board of Directors of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), demanded the immediate disbursement of pensioners’ and rights-holders benefits resulting from the decision issued since 2019, aimed at increasing pensions even at their modesty and extending this increase to all retirees without exception.
The representatives of the union explained, in a communiqué, Barlaman Today received on 9 September 2022, the Board of Directors of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) approved an increase in the pension of retirees by 5 percent, with a value of not less than 100 dirhams and retroactively from the beginning of January 2020, to contribute, albeit relatively, to the cost of living and moving this frozen pension years ago.
The press release added, “During the meeting at the CNSS headquarters in Casablanca, the Minister of Finance and Economy, as the board of directors chairperson, promised to work on issuing the decree related to this increase in the coming days. The disbursement of dues was expected to be completed by the end of October 2022.”
The communiqué notes that, based on these delays, the decisions of the CNSS have been disregarded and indifferent to the high expectations of retirees in the face of the cost of living and the deterioration of social conditions, the representatives of the Democratic Confederation of Labor on the Board of Directors protest vigorously against the inability of the government to deal positively with the interests and rights of employees and retirees affected by the Fund.
