A spokesman of the Taliban stated today that Taliban security forces killed six Islamic State members in a raid carried out in Kabul, according to Reuters.
These members were part of two major attacks recently, the first involving a city mosque and the second a tutoring institute where they killed dozens of female students.
Reaffirming his statement, the spokesman, Qari Yusuf Ahmadi, said that “they were the attackers of the Wazir Akbar Khan mosque and also … of Kaaj Institute.”
The Wazir Akbar Khan mosque attack counted seven deaths and forty injuries, while the Kaaj Institute attack killed 53 people, most of which are girls and young women.
This overnight operation resulted in the death of one Taliba security force member.
