Wildfires shook the Chefchaouen province in the middle of one of its forests at Bani Saleh commune, requiring colossal firefighters’ efforts.
According to local sources, the first spark of fire broke out on Thursday in Tamedit village before spreading by the wind to the forest, with its mountainous terrain and heavy vegetation.
Up to now, water, forests, local authorities, firefighters, and the Royal Gendarmerie continue to deploy significant efforts to trap and extinguish the fire. However, the winds in the area and the rugged terrain, and the darkness factor made their mission difficult.
