Open Signal’s Moroccan Mobile Network Experience Report, which analyzes the overall user experience of telecom operators in Morocco, revealed that Maroc Telecom leads operators in terms of the mobile experience, including videos, games, voice applications, download speed, and 4G coverage experience.
Concerning the download and upload speed experience, the operator Maroc Telecom wins the awards by a large margin, as Maroc Telecom users experienced the fastest Download Speed Experience in Morocco, with average download speeds of 37.1 Mbps, a significant 61.2-81.7% faster than Inwi (23 Mbps) and Orange users (20.4 Mbps).
Furthermore, Maroc Telecom users reported the fastest overall upload speeds of 9.7 Mbps, 33.9% – 46.4% faster than Inwi (7.2 Mbps) and Orange (6.6 Mbps).
Users on Maroc Telecom enjoy the best Video Experience in the Kingdom of Morocco, according to the same report, reasonably with a score of 54.8 (out of 100), and at least 10 points higher than other operators such as Orange and Inwi’s, with statistically tied scores of 44.1- 44.8.
Regarding games and voice app experience, both operators, Inwi and Maroc Telecom, are considered joint winners.
While using over-the-top (OTT) voice app services like WhatsApp, Skype, and Facebook Messenger, as well as multiplayer mobile games, smartphone users on the Inwi and Maroc Telecom mobile networks reported the best quality of experience available in the country.
Meanwhile, concerning the availability award, it was shared by Inwi and Maroc Telecom with statistically equal ratings in the 95.5–96.2% range. According to the report, the most significant percentage of time spent connected to 3G or superior signal mobile broadband services was logged on by Moroccan smartphone users on both of these networks. On the other hand, Orange falls short of the 95% threshold by 0.6 percentage points.
Finally, Maroc Telecom ranked on top for being the best, most consistent operator, reaching a score of 66.3% for excellent, consistent quality and 86.8% for consistent core quality; Maroc Telecom wins both Consistency awards outright, ahead of second-placed Orange.
Excellent Consistent Quality assesses how well an operator’s network meets the minimum performance requirements for HD video playback, group video conferencing, and gaming.
Meanwhile, Core Consistent Quality measures the percentage of users’ tests that met the thresholds for lower-performance applications, including SD video, voice calls, and web browsing.
All in all, according to the report findings, Maroc Telecom is the operator to beat in terms of mobile network experience in the Kingdom of Morocco, winning all ten prize categories, either jointly or outright, and has comfortable leads in many of them, including video experience, download, and upload speed experience, excellent and consistent core quality.
