The situation between Israel and Palestine seems far from being solved; clashes are coming from both sides. According to CNN, six nights in a row of conflicts in Sheikh Jarrah and the West Bank in East Jerusalem resulted in two deaths on the Palestinian side in the West Bank side and Jenin camps.
The clashes also took place in the neighborhoods of Silwan, Isawiyeh, and Ras Al Amood. But they were less violent than in Sheikh Jarrah and West Bank.
One of the two victims was a doctor called Abdullah Al-Ahmad, who died after being hit by a bullet in his head and fired by Israeli soldiers in front of Jenin Governmental Hospital. The second one was called Mateen Dabaya.
According to Palestinian and Israeli officials, at least 20 Palestinians were injured. Five Palestinians and two Israelis had to be hospitalized.
Israeli police used a water cannon truck to spew foul-smelling liquid to disperse the crowds, stun grenades, and pound the Palestinians. They arrested 18 Palestinians, too, suspected to be associated with disturbances that included throwing stones, such as Molotov cocktails, and shooting fireworks at police in East Jerusalem. One of the 18 arrested is Diaa Muhammad Yusef Salama, confirmed to be a Hamas member. He was carrying an M-16 rifle with him during the actions.
