Barlaman Today has learned from informed sources within the Royal Moroccan Football Federation that Morocco intends to bid to host the African Cup of Nations in 2025. This follows the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to strip Guinea of the organization of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) due to its lack of preparation, in addition to the security issue.
Yesterday, the president of CAF, Patrice Motsebe, traveled to Conakry, where he met with Colonel Mamadi Domboya, Interim President, and the Minister of Youth and Sports. “For the 2025 African Nations Championship, the decision has been taken to withdraw the host of 2025 AFCON from Guinea because of the country’s infrastructure,” Motsebe said at a press conference after his visit to Guinea, stating that he would reopen the door to bids to host the continental competition in 2025
