Aouatif Hayar, Minister of Solidarity, Social Inclusion, and Family, stated on Tuesday in Rabat that the Kingdom of Morocco is prepared to share its experience and knowledge with the Republic of Mali in order to assist those who find themselves in challenging circumstances, especially migrants.
Ms. Hayar recalled the “historic and extraordinary relations” between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Mali for centuries during her meeting with the Malian Minister for Humanitarian Action, Solidarity, Refugees, and Displaced Persons, Oumarou Diarra, and expressed the willingness of her department to provide this African nation with all the support required to meet its social challenges.
The Moroccan Minister recalled the steadfast conviction of HM King Mohammed VI that only Africans can bring about the development of Africa, and she commended the fact that Mali shares this vision and works relentlessly to further the advancement of the continent. She also made sure to emphasize the crucial role that women play in the development of any nation, emphasizing the importance of providing them with support in order to ensure that they have access to a source of revenue
Concerning the question of foreign migrants in Morocco, Ms. Hayar made note that social centers are accessible to this group and recalled that migrants had received free Covid-19 vaccinations, following the Royal High Directives.
For his part, Mr. Diarra praised the Sovereign’s continued efforts to assure the development of the African continent and emphasized his country’s commitment to further deepen the fraternal connections with Morocco. The Malian minister went on to say that “His Majesty King Mohammed VI is the first pan-African who cares about the development of the continent and the welfare of African people.”
In order to combat terrorism, the Malian official emphasized the value of empowering the underprivileged and creating income-generating opportunities for youth, using the “a village of hope” project for internally displaced persons in Mali as an example.
